David Stephensen
Professional Bio
David is an internationally recognised expert in the field of contact lenses and is noted for expertise in therapeutic care of anterior segment conditions including dry eye and associated ocular surface disorders. David is known for his skills in designing systems of rigid contact lens fitting and has interests in optics ranging from contact lenses, spectacle lenses to intraocular lenses.
David is a past President of the Cornea and Contact Lens Society of Australia.
David holds:
· A Fellowship of the Cornea and Contact Lens Society of Australia
· A Fellowship of the British Contact Lens Association
· An Associate Membership of the International Society of Contact Lens Specialists
In 2019 David was award the Hamlyn R Brier Award for Clinical Excellence by Optometry Queensland and Northern Territory.
As well as his undergraduate Optometry qualification, David also holds a business degree, majoring in Logistics and Operations Management. David was amongst the first graduating class of the Queensland University of Technology’s Graduate Certificate in Ocular Therapeutics in 2005, making him one of the most experienced therapeutically qualified optometrists in Queensland. David is also a CASA certified optometrist.
David’s principal practice is located to the south of Brisbane at Moorooka and he also conducts a weekly visiting clinic at Aspley to the north of Brisbane.
