Varny Ganesalingam is a Staff Optometrist and Lead of the Dry Eye Disease Clinic at the Australian College of Optometry (ACO).
She graduated from the University of Otago, New Zealand with a Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences in 2006. She then went on to pursue her Optometry Degree at the University of Auckland, graduating with Honours in 2010.
Varny worked in private practice for 8 years in central city Auckland, utilising her therapeutics and independent glaucoma prescriber endorsements and specialising in contact lenses at Mortimer Hirst Optometrists. In 2016, Varny obtained a Master of Health Sciences through the Ophthalmology Department at the University of Auckland after conducting research on Ocular Surface Inflammation in Dry Eye Disease.
In 2018, she moved to Melbourne and joined the clinical services division at the ACO. Varny enjoys clinical teaching and supervision alongside her practice within the general and speciality services at the ACO.
