Dr Simon Chen is a highly experienced retinal and cataract surgeon. Dr Chen dedicates his practice to the treatment of retinal disease and cataract surgery. He is an expert in modern techniques of vitrectomy surgery to treat epiretinal membranes, macular holes, diabetic retinopathy, floaters, retinal detachments and ocular trauma, and intravitreal injections for age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and retinal vein occlusions. Dr Chen was one of the first surgeons in the world to perform laser cataract surgery and regularly receives referrals for complex cataract surgery, especially in patients with retinal disease, ocular trauma or following complications from previous eye surgery. He practices at the Vision Eye Institute clinics in Bondi Junction, Chatswood and Drummoyne.
