Jason graduated from QUT in 1994 with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Optometry) with Honors. He commenced work as a locum Optometrist with The Optical Superstore in 1995 and spent time consulting in all corners of Australia.

 

In 2001 he also commenced sessional work with Ophthalmologist and Anterior Eye Specialist, Dr Andrew Apel, and has been providing pre- and post-operative care at his Brisbane rooms to this day.

 

In 2002 he was promoted to the National Director of Optometry for the Optical Superstore Group which engages 90 Optometrists at 65 locations across Australia.

 

In 2012 he completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Ocular Therapeutics and became a Credentialed Optometrist with CASA.

He founded in 2006, an advanced Dry Eye Clinic at The Eye Health Centre in Brisbane. Jason has lectured on Contact Lenses and Dry Eye in Australia and across South-East Asia.

Jason also served as a Director and Treasurer for Optometry Australia, QLD & NT, for 9 years until 2017, he also served on the Optometry Australia National Board for three years and currently sits on the QUT, Deakin and UWA Optometry Advisory Boards.

 

Jason was the recipient of the Optometry Australia Queensland Optometrist of the year in 2018.
